Pomfort specialises in developing high-quality and cost-effective software products for file-based camera workflows. It enables cinematographers, camera assistants, digital image technicians (DIT) and editors to maintain control over the organization of movie data and the creation of camera looks. Pomfort also implemented the software subsystem for QuickTime creation in the Alexa camera (without the transcoding to ProRes) in 2010 and continuously worked on subsequent updates (SUPs) of the Alexa camera system for ARRI until 2013. It includes QuickTime wrapping, embedding and extraction of metadata, in-camera playback of QuickTime files, the pre-recording feature, and consulting for the MXF implementation.
I was responsible for the support and testing of new software versions of Silverstack and LiveGrade. I was in contact with leading DITs and several directors of photography (DOP) to discuss features for Pomfort products and technical issues. With my knowledge from the film set and my expertise as a software developer I had the unique role to build a bridge between the end user and the developer. I was part of the UI design team together with the developer on the user interface of internal software products like Silverstack version 3.x
